Trekking in Darjeeling

If you are really fit and enjoy the outdoors, here is a trek through some of the most magnificent scenery on the planet!


Day One

Delhi/Bogdagra/Darjeeling. Morning flight to Bogdagra. Transportation on arrival to Darjeeling, where you spend two nights.

Day Two

Darjeeling.Today is free for you to explore the town on your own and enjoy a ride on the toy train

Day Three

Begin your adventure of trekking in Darjeeling Drive from Darjeeling to Maney Banjahg (26km, about one and a half  hours, altitude 2134 meters). Trek from Maney Banjang to Tonglu via Megma Gompa (11km, about five hours). This follows a steep zig-zag trail. Along the way you can see various varieties of rhododendron and magnolia, which should both be blooming during your visit. Overnight in trekkers huts or tents with a magnificent view of Kanchenjunga.

Day Four

Trekking. Trek Songlu to Sandakphu via Kalipokhri and Gairibans (21km, about eight hours, altitude 3636 meters). The trek to Gairibans is downhill at first, then gradually climbs. The last part of the trek is very steep. From the top you will have views of the Himalayas in Sikkim and Nepal. If weather is good you should be able to see Everest, Kanchengjunga Makalu, Lhotse, and other peaks. Overnight in trekkers huts or tents.

Day Five

Trekking. Trek Sandakphu to Rimbick (16km, about seven hours, altitude 2331 meters). This portion mostly downhill and passes through villages and farmlands, then climbs through a forest, ending in Rimbick. Drive to Darjeeling (56km, about four hours). Overnight in Darjeeling.

day six

Darjeeling to Bogdagra. Fly Bogdagra and connect to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata or beyond.
